Ocular Surface Disease

The combined diseases of the tear glands, eyelids (blepharitis), conjunctiva (conjunctivitis), and the cornea (keratitis) are often linked and therefore although one factor is usually the primary defect, there are often other associated problems.

Addressing the underlying cause and primary factor are important to achieving a satisfactory outcome. Frequently medications, allergies, environmental factors and systemic diseases are implicated. A methodical and persistent treatment plan is required.
